SVF invited Mr. Hossein Abu Mansour, Manager of Jabalia Association for Rehabilitation, and Mrs. Fattma Al.Wehedi, specialist in Benna’ Project Campaigns – Women’s Affaires Center, to talk in produced and broadcasted radio program to discuss NGO’s role empower and enhance woman role on November 26, 2008. Mr. Abu Mansour indicated that Palestinian woman percentage in Gaza and the West Bank presents half of the community. In spite of that, he assisted that she presents the whole community according to duties and actions she does. Furthermore, he assisted on the necessity of developing labour woman capacities to empower her role in the civic community largely. He also indicated that the public situation we live in particular the siege affects the NGO’s role. Hence, there are two problems affect the Palestinians in Gaza Strip; poverty and unemployment besides deterioration at providing services in general. Accordingly, he emphasized on the great responsibility falls upon the NGOs and the civic community organizations to raise citizens of violence risks which increased as a result of the current circumstances as well as they should develop and empower woman skills in all aspects; professional training and social and healthy raising. In this regard, he invited NGOs to put long-term supplying plans as well as deepen the relationship between institutions bases on enhancing woman empowerment concept in the community towards the great goal to develop the community in general and the woman capacities in particular. In her role, Mrs. Al.Wehadi indicated that woman empowerment in the healthy aspects and the sexual culturing affects woman health. Moreover, the NGO’s role is very important to raise and disseminate woman and community awareness. In spite of that, there is shortening in the provided services for the community development. Hence, she invited NGO’s to supply their services to poor areas enhance voluntary work in such centers.
